Student and Career Opportunities

Two Postdoctoral Research Fellowships are available at the Centre for Advanced Photovoltaics CTU in Prague. Whilst we will consider exceptional candidates with experience in most aspects of photovoltaics, preference will be given to researchers with strong experimental background in the following areas:

- Photonic structures to enhance the capture of light,
- Novel high efficiency heterojunction silicon solar cells,
- The application of low-dimensional materials to photonics or photovoltaics.

The applicants for Fellowships should hold, or be about to obtain, a doctorate in the relevant academic discipline. The appointment will be for two years with probation period of one year. At the end of the two-year period, opportunities will exist for exceptional candidates to apply for longer-term posts (assistant professor). Interested candidates should apply, with an up-to-date CV, a brief statement of proposed research and the names and contact details of two referees to cap@fel.cvut.cz. The positions can be discussed informally with assoc. prof. Kozempel or prof. Rezek (jan.kozempel@fjfi.cvut.cz, rezekboh@fel.cvut.cz, low-dimensional materials), assoc. prof. Holovsky (holovjak@fel.cvut.cz, crystalline silicon) or Dr Dzurnak (dzurnbra@fel.cvut.cz, photonic structures). Starting salary will be within the range € 1800 – 2200 per month, depending on qualifications and experience.

The deadline for applications for Research Fellowships is 30th May 2020. It is intended to hold interviews with the short listed candidates within June 2020. Interested candidates should send CV to cap@fel.cvut.cz.

Alongside the Research Fellowships, opportunities exist for well qualified and motivated students to study for a PhD. For all applicants (Ph.D. Studentships as well as Research Fellowships), knowledge of the Czech language is not mandatory but a good working knowledge of English is essential. The deadline for applications for Research Fellowships is 30th June 2020 (starting on 1st February 2021).
